New Otter Habitat Survey around Pokhara Valley Lakes As part of creating baseline information on status of otters in Pokhara valley, WFN carried out a study to identify the potential otter habitats around 9 lakes of Pokhara valley of Nepal. The study has identified key potential habitats of otters in Begnas, Rupa, Gunde, Khaste, Neureni and Dipang lakes. Participatory study has revealed that otters are not present in Phewa and Maidi lakes since last 10-12 years. Next plan is to assess the status of otters using camera trapping technique.
