This project is pilot initiative on research and conservation of otters in Nepal. In Nepal, the baseline information on distribution of otters is not available yet. This project will identify the wetlands of Nepal in which otters are present, and human-otter conflict as well. Overall activities will encompass conservation awareness component. It is expected that the project outputs will be useful in designing and implementing long-term research and conservation programs in future focusing on otters in Nepal. Gradually, scientific research will be carried out to identify the status of otters in Nepal.
